The AdvDipMin is intended as an introduction to Christian studies. It provides a foundation of understanding and skills relevant for Christian service and is intended to take candidates to a level of competence sufficient for them to begin full time ministry, depending on the range of subjects actually studied. There is a concern for theological understanding, skills for ministry
and spiritual formation.
The AdvDipMin may be completed in three years of full time study or longer by part time study. It is also available through distance education via workbooks. The regulations require the completion of 24 subjects including:
(i) eight compulsory subjects: Formative Old Testament Traditions, From Israel to Judea, Content and Setting of the Gospel Tradition, Early New Testament Church, The Church to 1550 or The Church from 1550 to Modern Times, The Doctrine of God and the Person and Work of Christ or The Holy Spirit, Grace and Hope, Supervised Experience Based Learning and a Project in an area of interest
