Dr Sylvia Collinson
BA (Hons), MEd, PhD

Sylvia Collinson joined the Morling Faculty in 2003. She lectures in New Testament at all levels and in Discipling and Spiritual Mentoring in Morling’s Postgraduate program, and serves as Chairperson of Scripture Union Australia.

She was Associate Pastor at Gosford City Baptist Church between 2002-2004. Previously she taught part-time at the Baptist Theological College in Perth (1996-2002) and full-time for fifteen years at the Bible College of South Australia, where she became the Vice-Principal (1981-1995). Prior to that she was part of the pastoral team at Carlingford Baptist from 1976-1980, after teaching for eight years with NSW Dept of Education.

Sylvia has enjoyed a varied teaching and preaching ministry across Australia with a number of denominational and interdenominational groups. She has a strong passion for building discipling relationships within the faith community to enable others to grow as disciples of Christ, through personally serving him in association with others.

She enjoys the beach, bike riding and long bush walks, reading, talking with friends and listening to classical music.
